Thanks much for this information. I am glad to hear that cyber crimes are being taken seriously. I hope Michael Tonello is brought to justice.

Below is an example of just part of the downside of getting involved in an online forum.
I was involved in a forum (the purse forum) and was banned. My ID was duchess. Duchess is an old nickname, one I had before I was married, and has no pretentious origin.
I have NEVER bullied anyone online, or published their personal information, real names, addresses or phone numbers.
I have NEVER posted in another purse forum members ID, impersonated anyone; and I was NEVER a nurse. I can't even watch a medical procedure on tv.
I'm also not my husbands "fourth" wife! lol
I was at first alarmed by the hate spewed at me, but that is the reality of being online,so I have to accept the good with the bad.
The haters will always be the most vocal, and fortunately they are a minority.
The list of my blogs below were in fact blogs I had listed. Some I posted on, and some I didn't.
My REAL PURSE BLOG was my first blog, and was titled to express what it was about. Real purses. Not fakes, or replicas.
My blog description, was "get real, or get lost."
It still is.
You don't have to like me or my style, and you are welcome to criticise me; but I will speak out against out and out lies about me.
Below is just a smattering of the printable baloney that is being said about me, and my friend, author Michael Tonello.
At least 5 of these are the crazy revenge blogs started by Donna when she was banned from the Purse Forum. Not for defending Michael as she would have us believe. But for being a rude, abrasive BITCH who stalked and bullied several members, just as she is doing now.

She lied again. And because she can't keep up with her own lies. She had written in one of many blogs that she is known as duchess or that her husband calls her duchess. Now, which is which? When you can't keep up with your lies, don't proliferate all over the internet. Just STOP.
She also lied on Effen Haute about who PFA belongs to. She can't delete that post.
She was alarmed at the hate spewed at her? Her personal details out there online? Well, then, how does she feel about her buddy Tonello doing the very same to others? Walk a mile in someone else's shoes, Donna.....

If you are going to run a website (and he is running a website that is redirecting to a domain name that we can assume he owns) that allows user contributed content, you have two choices:
1. Moderate
If you choose to moderate - removing threads, censoring words, etc. then you become a publisher of content, and are liable for the content posted.
2. Complete unmoderation
If you choose to unmoderate, allowing any and all content with the exception of illegal content (child porn for example), then you are considered a distributor of content, and are not liable for the content posted.
Since he's decided to go with option #1, he is responsible for the content and the ensuing harassment, whether he's carrying it out as owner or anonymously as a commenter.
Blogger has and can certainly be supoenaed for IP information on the anonymous commenters too.
